The Duet

We are proud to introduce our newest
speaker, the
Duet. We have taken all we have
learned designing our larger speakers, and
created a very special smaller one.
As with all of our speakers, all parts are of
highest quality. Of particular interest is the
Duet's crossover.
Like the Silhouette, it is a series, 1st order
design that uses no capacitors at all! There are
only three components, which include the best
Alpha-Core inductors
and Mundorf resistors, parts typically found in
speakers selling for $15,000 and up. During
assembly of the crossover, all contact points
are first crimped, then soldered with WBT
lead-free silver. All wiring is point-to-point
(no circuit boards). All crossover elements are
rubber mounted to isolate them from the cabinet
for improved dynamics and clarity.
This attention to detail shows throughout the
Duet from the cabinetry to the specially
designed drivers to the terminals.
Like
our other speakers, the Duet employs
ambient recovery technology, explained in more detail in a paper
we have available
here. We use
dual voice coil drivers and an additional
connection between the speakers to pass the
differential information between the two
speakers (note the two additional terminals
above the input
terminals in the photo above).
